Celebrate the 1 year anniversary of EMP Collective’s A/V Cart series on Sunday, November 22. This special episode will reflect upon the 2015 Baltimore Uprising. The night will feature a salon-style gallery exhibition, music, and the first screening of “Not about a Riot” a documentary about the Baltimore Uprising.

“Not about a Riot” is the story the media didn’t show. Using footage from the week of unrest popularly coined “ The Baltimore Riots”, filmmaker Malaika Aminata documents the events following the death of Freddie Gray. Through music, movement, and art, spirits are stirred, shackles are unchained, and a community comes together.

We are calling for all types of art (video, visual, written, movement based, etc) that was made either during the Baltimore Uprising or in response to them.
